Community Update from Superintendent Rai

Alert message sent 21/09/2017 15:49:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Hello,

I am aware of the concerns within the local community following three serious incidents that have occurred recently in Windsor. I would like to reassure members of the community that my team are actively investigating these and would encourage anyone with information to come forward.

Thames Valley Police has been working with local residents within the town to reduce anti-social behaviour at night. I would like to ask people enjoying Windsor’s restaurants, bars and clubs to report any suspicious activity to police on 101, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Please dial 999 in an emergency.

We have extra patrols during the evening and continue to work closely with Windsor Borough Council, and our other partner agencies including Windsor Pubwatch, to ensure the town remains a safe and enjoyable place to visit.

Recent Incidents Update:

In response to the incident where a woman in her twenties was raped in Alexandra Gardens in the early hours of Saturday 26 August, a CCTV image has been released which resulted in a man coming forward to help us with our enquiries. There have been no arrests in relation to this incident to date.

Two men have been arrested and bailed in connection with the murder of Mohammed Rasheed following the violent assault which took place on Sunday 10 September at Goswell Hill. We are continuing to appeal for anyone with any information relating to this incident to call 101 as a matter of urgency quoting ‘URN 929 10/9/17'.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and released under investigation in connection with the rape of a 19-year-old woman in Victoria Street car park on Monday (18/9). Anyone with information about this incident should urgently call 101 quoting URN 99 18/09/17’.
