Appeal for witnesses following two attempted vehicle thefts in the Wantage area

Alert message sent 28/08/2020 09:48:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following two attempted vehicle thefts in the Wantage area

At around 1.30pm on Wednesday 26 August a white man with a dark beard was seen attempting to break into the rear of a van in the Charlton Heights area near to the church. It is believed the man got in to a Black Vauxhall Zafira and drove off in the direction of the Lord Nelson pub roundabout.

At around a similar time to the first offence another similar offence occurred where another van was tampered with in Lockinge, near Wantage. Given they are geographically very close, it is possible that they are connected.

Neither attempt resulted in any items being taken. If you have any information about these or believe that you have seen something similar, please report this to us online via our website or by calling 101 quoting reference: 43200267486.
