Storm and Scam Updates

Alert message sent 21/02/2022 10:25:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

With much concern about the damage from the storms over the weekend, we are urging residents to check on friends & neighbours to ensure that they stay safe.  Rogue traders could use the storm as a way of persuading people that they need work done on their property. If you have any concerns about cold callers offering to carry out work like roofing or tree surgery, then please report them to us for free on 0808 223 1133.

Trading Standards have recently visited a local resident who has lost over £30,000 to a pension scam. Please be aware of these type of scams as they do usually involve a large amount of money being lost. For further advice on pension scams visit:  Action Fraud If you think that you, a friend or family member have been a victim of a pension scam, then please report it to us on 0808 223 1133.

Many thanks
